Artober in the offing

Calling all restaurants, businesses, arts organizations, artists and audiences who love Sacramento arts! Artober is being organized as a grass-roots effort throughout the region that showcases our area’s arts.  And we welcome your participation as we roll this out for October, 2011.

In October, 2011 arts organizations and arts partners will jointly showcase the best of Sacramento’s regional arts. A major visibility campaign will invite visitors of all ages, backgrounds and interests to connect to Sacramento’s arts. A series of special programs will open and punctuate the month, reminding children, families, young professionals, tourists, and seniors that there’s a creative opportunity for everyone here in our region.

Partners include Sacramento News and Review, Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau, For Arts’ Sake, , Sacramento365.com, Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, Downtown Sacramento Partnership, Midtown Business Partnership and the City Department of Convention, Culture and Leisure, among others.

There are lots of ways to participate. If you are an arts organization and want to get an event listed as an Artober activity, send us your information. If you are a business seeking to promote a favorite artist or arts organization, come up with an idea and let us know what, where, when and cost. We are encouraging restaurants to create an Artober culinary special drink, dessert or meal to celebrate how indulging is an art in itself! We are especially eager to showcase what’s going on both in Sacramento’s central core and in our entire region.

We are also seeking sponsors to support Artober promotional activities. If you are interested in sponsorship, contact sponsors@artobersac.org for more information about sponsor benefits and level of support.

Special thanks to the committee who is organizing this broad effort – and to the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau, Sacramento News and Review, and Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission for their leadership in beginning this month-long celebration in 2010.
